New Baystate Health Provider Welcome!

Welcome to Baystate Health!

The WAAM leadership committee would like to take this opportunity to personally welcome you to the medical staff and to your new position. WAAM (Women Advancing and Achieving in Medicine) is an organization of Baystate Health women physicians and advanced practitioners refining skills in the areas of leadership, mentorship, scholarship and networking.  We are proud of our over 900 active members since our inception in September of 2005.

Our experience is that women in academic medicine either face different challenges than some of our male counterparts, or that we handle the same challenges in different ways.  As a group that meets regularly, we find strength and some solace in sharing our ideas for professional growth.   We aim to maintain a healthy balance of academic and personal success, and to increase the overall percentage of women in leadership roles in our health care system.

We invite you to find out more about WAAM by coming to one of our programs (check our website), calling our administrative assistant Aryn Breveleri, or by contacting one of us personally.  We have decades of experience and stories to share and we need the ideas and objective outlook of new physicians and advanced practitioners to keep us energized.

Again, welcome and we look forward to hearing from you.
